Default Low Battery Causing Calendar Entries To Be Deleted?

Please Login to Remove!

I was having problems with my BB 8830 seemingly deleting entries with no apparent explanation. I won't get into all the details but the bottom line that the only way I could restore them was to delete all the entries on the device (using DM) and then resynching with Outlook on my laptop. After posting that problem in these forums I received a number of suggestions (deleting extra calendars, applications, extra video) and it seemed to work. It had been fine for several weeks.

Today, I noticed that, once again, that 90% of my calendar entries on the device were deleted (yes, I have the option "Keep Forever" selected). The only thing different was that the battery was very low. It had been some time since I let it get that low.

Could this be causing the problem?

Thanks!

I haven't ever heard of a low battery causing the problem of deleted calendar entries. How much free memory do you have on the device?

Usually 5MB. I used to lose the entries when memory got below 1MB but deleting various application seemed to have solved the problem. Do you think I need more free memory?

With my older devices I liked to have double digit free memory if possible. What operating system are you using?

I am using OS 4.5.0 with DM 5.0.0.11 under Verizon Wireless. I tend to keep all my appointments on my device (keep forever) so I could just keep 90 days and see how that works. Id' rather not but if that's the only option I have, I can give it a shot. Thanks for your help.

That might be a good option, especially since this is still happening. Another thing you may do is look at upgrading to the BlackBerry Tour, which has 256MB of internal app memory. It really makes a big difference in the amount of data you can hold, and the number of applications you can install.

Now that would definitely make a difference. I am going to limit the calendar entries on the device and see how that works as a short term measure. Thanks for your help.
