Hi, since office 2007 on vista is awfully slow i would like to put everything in Windows Mail, Windows Address Book and Windows Calendar. How do i set Blackberry Desktop to sync to those programs instead of outlook? any ideas?

I don't believe you can do that. I have not read that Desktop Manager has added those capabilities.

Try Outlook 2003. It launches pretty fast in comparision.
Not sure if it works under Vista.

Also, you don't need to use Outlook for email. You can continue to use Windows Mail for email, but use Outlook as a PIM. If you want to use Windows Mail, this does mean you now need to export your Outlook into Windows Mail once in a while to get all the new addresses you've added to your BlackBerry and/or Outlook over time, so you can have the updated addressbook data in your Windows Mail too.

I think eventually RIM will support the native Vista PIM apps, since it's going to be a big market RIM cannot ignore eventually.

I've tried downgrading to 2003 but it is still incredibly slow popping in vista. both 2003 and 2007 are ridiculously slow in vista, even when making the pst less than a gig. i guess i can only hope that rim will support windows mail, address book and calendar for synchronization. thanks for the input! much appreciated.

Or put more memory in the Vista box - not sure what you have, but with 2GB on a laptop Office 2007 runs fine.

If I were you I would be looking at the PC itself. Either you have something configured wrong, need more memory or perhaps you've got something running that takes up a lot of resources. Honestly, I don't have any problems running Office 2007 on Vista Ultimate on my year old PC. It isn't anything special but it does have 2 gig of RAM.

I agree - I have a year-old laptop with only 1 GB of RAM and Vista Home Premium with Office 2007 Ultimate runs fine. I use Outlook constantly and I am usually running several office apps at once. I think you need to look into something that can clean up that Operating System - Might I suggest CCleaner (google for it) as it will help you remove all Temporary files on your PC and really boost performance. I would also defragment overnight and see if things are better in the morning.

Keep us posted.
