Tom, I believe that these two forums should be removed as well:

Let's get back to basics. If we remove the social nonsense, we can all focus on supporting the remaining few people that utilise BlackBerry for its intended purpose and those that are migrating to or away from BlackBerry.

Debated this in my mind for a while this morning.

I see the benefit in the original intent of Social Groups, but there's no denying the toxic cesspool that place has become. I vote we flush it.

If I want to find other BBM users, I can simply PM that user, or I can find people somewhere else online.

Another reason to remove the cesspool. I just found and deleted posts by a guy advertising the size of his body parts, asking outright for things this forum is not about.

I have moved it into OffTopic to get it off the front page. Yes, I agree it needs to go, I am just trying to figure out how people are getting there in the first place, be it direct from Google, or because its on the front page of the forum. (or was)

My best guess is that they got here because of the Trackback feature. In addition to the spammers that like to place them in their posts, other people were placing trackbacks to forums or chat sites across Africa (particularly South Africa and Nigeria), which is what led them here. I would suggest removing that feature and deleting the trackbacks from any existing posts. I'll be more than happy to help you do that.

I dont think we should remove it.. This is good platform to make new friends...yes, there are some people who are misusing it. rather than removing it, put some filters..thats it

Based on your posts in that section, you're misusing it. You're a liar that posts different ages, different religions in the quest for naughty chat and should be banned.
