Why when I go to yahoo does it take me to the mobile site that I can get with my original browser?

I have the same question. Its seems unique to the way it renders the pages.
Have you tried to go to a yahoo section and transfer to the home page?

Not sure if this is the right forum...but does using opera mini seem to work better than the preinstalled browser? One of my co-workers mentioned it yesterday but I wanted to get some more feedback.

Luke, it's faster and renders pages more true in appearance to how they look on a desktop. Once you learn the shortcut keys for page up, page down, page left/right, etc, you can absolutely fly through webpages. It's free to try, just go to mini.opera.com with your blackberry browser.

I have to agree with you. It definitely gives a more "desktop" feel to browsing and is seems _much_ faster. Wasn't able to get the horizontal view it spoke of on my 8310. Is there something I'm missing or is it not available on the blackberry? Didn't see the option in the settings either.

There's a newer version out now too, 4.2. Just go to mini.opera.com to download straight to your BlackBerry.

Does the version address the input field issue?

Joeybear, what was the input field issue? I have the latest version 4.2 running on my 8310 Curve.

Howard, he's probably not going to see this again because the thread got moved, but I think he's talking about the way that Opera takes you to a fullscreen text-input window when you click on a text box. It bugs some people; doesn't bother me personally.

But what about the issue where it takes you to a mobile site rather than the regular site?

I don't know about Yahoo, but with Google there's a URL you can enter that forces the full version of the site instead of the mobile version (google.com/webhp?hl=en&output=html).

I don't know if Yahoo has something similar.
