Default Bluetooth for BB7230?

Tried to post this is an existing thread and decided to take it out to its own to get more exposure and help??

I'm pretty frustrated trying to find a working solution to the NON-BT BB7230 working in a BT environment.

Unfortunatly, the BB7230 is company provided, so moving to a BT enabled device is not an option.

I have purchased and tried the Jabra A210 with the Motorola HS810 (with the flip out mic) - I could not get the phone to answer or hangup. If it was on (mic flipped out) I could answer the phone, but was never able to hang it up (even closing the flip mic).

I also tried the Jabra BT250. No luck.
Both of these units "paired" without any problem.

I'm not wanting to buy and return a whole bunch of BT headsets. That just seems wasteful to the supplier and to me.

Have any of you (I know there are companies represented on this forum)had actual experience (and success!!) with a dongle/BT headset combination that you can share?

I underestand that there is a new Jabra headset coming out at the end of January that is more programmable? Is this the answer?

ANY help would be appreciated.

I used the Jabra BT200 with my Cingular 7280 before I switched to the 7290. I'm not sure how you say that the BT250 was paired with your device - that is a bluetooth only headset and I don't believe thats possible.

The BT200 was OK but the quality was poor when using the dongle as opposed to using it on a true Bluetooth-capable Blackberry.

It was irritating to have the dongle plugged into the headset port all the time.

Anyway I believe the Jabra BT200 for non-Bluetooth phones would be a solid option if you can't upgrade to a 7290.

Scotty -
Please re-read my post.

1) Moving to a BT enabled device is NOT an option as the 7230 is provided by my company.

2) The Jabra A210 is a Bluetooth adapter / dongle that is supposed to allow the non-Bluetooth phones work like they are Bluetooth phones...

What I'm looking for is someone or a (Blackberry Forums Sponsoring/Sponsored/Represented company) that has had ACTUAL experience and success with the BB7230 and can make a recommendation.

I don't see how you can expect the 7230 to support Bluetooth functionality other than just audio via the 2.5mm headset jack. All of the features of the BT800 would be useless if you paired it with the A210 connected to your 7230.

The headset that ships with the 7230 only has a mute button (though admittedly, that really doesn't clearly delineate whether or not answer/hang-up is supported).

Moving to a BT enabled device is an option unless your company outright prohibits it -- it's just not a very pretty option.
