Default Temp. Data Blackouts

I am with CW and today it seems there was a period of an hour or so where I got no email, BB messeger messages, or text messages. If this was just email I would think a Web Client or SB issue but after sending my service books again, I got text and BB messenger messages ahead of the service books.

Weird.

CW = Cingular Wireless.

Dawg, you just may need friends to email and BB Messenger you...being a GA fan and all...

Oh, I don't have CW, so I don't know if they had an outage today.

Yes, CW is Cingular and I was sent 2 text messsages a few BB messenger messages and a couple of emails and none of them came though until a bit later when they batched through. I did not think the BB web client managed SMS or IM. That is why I was thinking there was a brief period where my phone or the network went to sleep on me.

I'm also on Cingular in Northern Virginia and didn't notice any problems. I was sending and receiving just about every hour of the day since 11am...

Sometimes Cingular will hold and delay forwarded SMS or this type of traffic if the Cell sites are overloaded. You will see this even more with PIN to PIN messages. A delay on a voice call would not be a good thing. They state they do not support Pin messages and although it does work you will see delays at times. I have an internal contact at Cingular engineering ,he said they place voice calls over all other messages as do most carriers. Most carriers are expanding the network and you can hope they realize Text, Data and Pin to PIN is just as important.
I would guess Atlanta is a very busy area for all carriers.

Hey Dawg...I think it was an ATL thing. I had issues all day Friday and yesterday. Seems to be OK today (Sunday)
