Default QWERTZ keyboard

Please Login to Remove!

I recently bought an 8900 from german T-Mo. I didn't notice at first and of course I can't return it now. I know it's an old issue but I was just wondering if you could share your experience with me. How hard was for you to get used to it? I REALLY don't want to go by all that selling it again blabla and I already used it I would lose money.

It's not that hard.

Give yourself a week or two. Adjusting to it is easier than re-selling a device that you just bought.

You weren't.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but had you researched, you would have found prior to purchase that Germany uses a QWERTZ layout. Now, we've all told you that it is easy to get used to, so you should feel even less ripped off. What else do you want to hear?

Please do some research before posting.

Changing the keypad does not change the underlying keymap. The keymap is hard-coded on the device's main board. In other words, just putting on a QWERTY keypad will not change the phone to QWERTY.

I tried one for about a week and simply could not deal with it. Typos up the ying-yang! I got rid of mine and went regular QWERTY.

Amazingly I'm finding it pretty easy. I speak spanish and we use the Y+A a lot and it actually makes it easier to type. I'm just not fully used to it.
