Hot dam, it works now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys have made me the happiest BB owner today! I was ready to switch back to 4.1 to get the themes working but will not have to now.
Now the next problem I noticed. Anyone else having their battery drained 2x faster than 4.1? I used to charge the BB once a day, now it needs it twice. No apps changed, just the OS.

Was this with the default Verizon theme? There is a known bug (I personally had a call into VZW and RIM) with that theme that reports inaccurate battery level (i.e., too low: 3/4 bars at 100%, 2/4 bars at 85%, etc.). The battery level is accurately reported on the Status screen within the main BlackBerry Options application.

No, it just needs to be charged twice as much now. Any theme I use it's the same.

Yahoo! Messanger use JT for Y/AIM and signed on ALL day
TeleNav use Mapquest Nav - drains big whenever I use it
BB Weather (just added today, not the cause) I use then exit
Empower Email Viewer use BBSmart
LexSpell dont use
ESPN Module (removed today) use on occasion

Hate to be ignorant about this but was just talking to a co-worker and he wanted to know what steps to follow to do this. When you say you loaded all the themes you wanted are you talking about putting them in the folder? I'm assuming you start DM first then execute javaloader within the folder that contains the themes. Also what other themes do you have other than BBDimension that you loaded? Thanks

Here's a modified ALX (and the COD) -- place the COD in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8703e-v4.2.1.106_P2.3.0.20\Java
And the ALX in:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8703e-v4.2.1.106_P2.3.0.20
Fire up desktop manager, it should ask to update the BlackBerry core files on the device.
This should also stop it from trying to remove it.

I close all applications when not in use. I had a Motorola Q (worst thing ever made) so I know what it's like to have apps run all day for no reason.

All the apps were on 4.1 without issue except for BB Weather but I just installed that today so that is not it. Now that I have the today themes loaded I will see if that works better. I always used the today themes on 4.1 I never had to charged the BB more than once a day or every other if used less, such as weekends.

To be clear on this, just place the files in those directories and with starting up the DM and asking to update....the today theme will be loaded automatically without having to use the javaloader?

Blackberry
(Direct Link doesn't work) :(
Select: UK, Free Download Area, Devices, RIM Devices, 8700 4.2.1 rel 180, then 8700M_PBr4[1].2.1_rel180_PL2.3.0.86_A4.2.1.108.exe.
Take the net_rim_theme_bbdimension_today_320x240_w.cod from C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.2.1.108_P2.3.0.86\Java and copy it to a different location (I used my desktop because I was lazy).
Use javaloader to load it to your device:
JavaLoader.exe -u load net_rim_theme_bb_dimension_today_320x240.cod
My device rebooted automatically after the load. Upon the OS loading, I now have the today theme as an option, and bPhone can be activated.
I have javaloader.exe since I have the JDE installed for Blackberry development, but I know that I've seen it online by itself.

The most likely reason that a couple of people were getting errors running JavaLoader as per the above is that the name of the .cod file provided in the posted instructions does not match the one included in the zip file. If you were cutting/pasting from his post, you'd get the error. The correct command line is:
JavaLoader.exe net_rim_theme_bbdimension_today_320x240_w.cod
Please note the '_w' prior to the .cod extension.
