Apologies if this is a dumb question, but I'm a BlackBerry novice! BlackBerry data plans are not available in the country that I live in, and I would like to know if it's possible to access POP Email via BIS using the data plan of a non BlackBerry network provider? I'm thinking of buying an unlocked 8800, and using my current network provider - they have data, but not BlackBerry. Any method of email access would be good. Advice would be welcome!

Likely not, as a rule, no BB Data Plan, no data. However as you learned in life, all rules are made to be broken and while I have NO experience in a workaround, I have read some threads on this board where some claimed they were able to get data transmission for browser, etc., without the BB Data Plan.

Why don't you post your country and service provider, and see where it goes?

hi, im in the UAE and ETISALAT has just rolled out the BIS service here, I know for a fact that in Saudi MOBILY will offer the BIS service soon......they currently give out enterprise only.
