i'm not sure if corporate users are getting them... no one in my department received a text message, and we have about 10 of these now.

Ditto; we haven't gotten any at work, but we got one on my wife's 7100t.

Guys - I posted this earlier but never got a response.

I went through the TMO software download and install process....rebooted my PC but the handheld never recognizes the new software. I do not get an upgrade message. I am using a non-TMO version of the Desktop Manager - v4.0.1.10 .....maybe that is the reason?? Any XML file issues blocking the recognition process?

Anyone else out there using a non-TMO Desktop Manager yet can load this version of the Handheld software?

THANKS!
jeff

JMF0, I have the same version of Desktop Manager installed, so thats not the issue. Just try and delete the Vendor.XML file from the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader directory.

For those who have on-screen VM notification (not a text msg), you now have two options on the notification - OK | Save. I'm not sure why they'd offer the Save option, but whatever. I still Escape out of it.

After upgrading I can no longer press and hold 1 to get to voicemail, and for some reason I can't use my browser or other 3rd Party apps. I receive a cannot reach MDS error when trying to connect to the Internet.

Default Where's the good news?

After reading these posts, there seems to be no good news in the upgrade, only negatives. Surely someone has something good to say about it.

Does it stop the reboots during calls that some folks were having?

What is the custom word list editor? Is the same as autotext?

We have not had one problem upgrading on any of our devices. Of course you are only going to hear the bad. No one comes here to say - hey, it worked!

According to an e-mail I got from T-Mobile, it fixes the rebooting problem.

I had the issues about the VM and wrong icons for some of the settings options but I just did a complete wipe and reinstall and then did a restore. Everything is working like a charm so far. I am not able to test out my tcp connection for 3rd party apps since I am up in NC and it is tingular conutry. They always seem to have issues with any of my phones that my wife and I use to do data very well here.

But I do like how after I got the o2 theme back on, it does seem a bit quicker. I do think it now takes even longer for it to boot up from say the battery being pulled out and put back in (10 minutes). I find that a bit rediculous but hey what can you do right. Maybe rim will use some more powerful hardware on the next go around to solve this problem.

Worked fine for me. Never encountered any problems with upgrading to the latest OS. One thing I like on the upgrade is the customer wordlist. Nifty.

The wipe and reinstall worked for me as well. VM works fine again and after doing an Enterprise Activation I am up and running again.

To be honest, I wish I had never installed any 4.0 version. Before that, my alarm would play the whole song in the morning. Now, it cuts it off and starts it over again. I'm sure that isn't important to some, but sometimes the entire song playing would actually inspire me to NOT hit the snooze button, but get out of bed.

I believe the VM issue can be resolved by simply rebooting your phone (battery removal method). Usually that fixes it if it happens with me.
