Do i need to do anything with my desktop manager when i upgrade, i thought i remembered it asking me if i was running a BIS or BES when installed?

Whan you upgrade what?

If you are upgrading a device then you might need a later version of DM inorder to get the correct drivers for USB charging - for example the 8120 series only works off DM4.3

As to BIS vs. BES, if you're prompted for that when upgrading then just choose the correct one..

DM & HH versions have requirements together. BES & DM do not.

great thanks, it looks like i can sync no problem while connected via usb but wireless sync and reconciliation and activation are not working.

Can some tell me what my settings should be on my 8100 for message services in the advanced options area, I have it on my email that the BES it tied to but i have options of all my pop accounts and Desktop??? Same options for email reconciliation , should it be my email that the BES is tied too or desktop???

It should say "Desktop" across the board ...

In the BES world "Desktop" does not mean your PC/Desktop, but rather the BES connected mailbox.
