Default Problems synching 9650

Please Login to Remove!

We are running BESX 5.0.3 SP3 on a server running Windows Server 2008R2. We also have Exchange 2010.

Our environment only has 4 Blackberry devices. Three of those devices work perfectly, but we have one user with a 9650 (v5.0.0.810, bundle 1367, platform 4.2.0.363) that will not work. The software loads successfully, but it won't sync the calendar and contacts.

Has anyone had similar issues and found a miracle cure? Would love some insight on this as Blackberry is not the primary device used at our site and we don't have a lot of experience with them. Thanks!

What do you mean "software loads successfully?" Do you mean the device software works, nothing will sync such as mail, calendar and contacts?

I really sounds like that particular device does not have the correct type of data plan on it.

I meant the app that you load on the handheld to sync loads successfully, but then the calendar and contacts info won't sync.

The device OS is being upgraded this morning, hopefully that will help. Thanks for the link to the article, I'll check it out.

There's not an app you load on the handheld to synch. It's an ETP.DAT file sent from the BES when initiated from the handheld.

I agree with Darth... shouldn't be any software required to "sync". Would your exchange 2010 happen to be sp1?

OK, not software...I'm just talking about the component that gets pushed to the handheld from the BES.

Ok... still don't quite follow... let me ask this... is this 9650 the only device not syncing contacts and calendar correctly? Are you using sp1 for Exchange 2010

Yes, our Exchange 2010 is up to date. We have SP 2 installed.

Yes, the 9650 is the only device not synching calendar and contacts correctly. The other four are: 2 - 9810 (OS 7.0.0.261) and 2 - 9800 (OS 6.0.0.600). Those four work just fine.

Ok. Exchange 2010 implements throttling... The CPA values of its throttling policy need to be null because they affected contact and calendar syncing. Do you have access to the Exchange server? You need to get someone to take a look at the settings below.:

To confirm that all required settings have been set correctly, follow these steps:

On a computer that hosts the Microsoft Exchange Management Shell, click Start > Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 > Exchange Management Shell.
Type:
Get-ThrottlingPolicy BESPolicy

****if any of the below have any value you will need to null them*****
CPAMaxConcurrency
CPAPercentTimeInCAS
CPAPercentTimeInMailboxRPC
