Cheers! It's a great device - I've found it very reliable, great battery life, all round a very nice full qwerty Pearl really! I think some people may be surprised that it's more of a consumer device than a business one, but with the recent launch of the 8800 I was expecting something more on the consumer side.

Thanks for the article. I appears the 8300 is exactly like the 8100 except for the full size keyboard, standard earphone jack, and updated media player.

Exactly, but I can't stress enough how good the build quality is as well - this is a much more rugged device than the Pearl and the 8800 in my opinion.

As you can talk about your I assume I can talk about mine :D
Not had much of a chance to play with it, was leaving that for WES but seems like one of the guys has taken it home with him and is now off sick (how very convienient) the three main pluses over the 8800 are the size is a bit better sitting in your hand, the built quality is superb (then again sticky back plastic and carboard would be better than the 8800) and the built in Spellchecker. It seems that RIM have been listing to us and hopefully it will be in OS 4.2.2 on all devices.

Awesome review.
I really want to get one now, but until I hear the specs of the three or four from the series that are being released, I have to be a good boy and not be tempted to buy the first thing I see.

I'm not so sure that there are going to be several versions of the device - I think you'll find this is it, and anything else feature wise will be on later models, 9xxx, etc

So it does appear that it will be released for both AT&T and Tmo in May. the 8300 looks very nice and indeed much more rugged, but I'm beginning to like the 8800 more and more as I use it, it has that sleekness look to it and more angular as opposed to the more roudedness of the 8300. For those of you that plunked down on the Tmo 8800, who is planning on getting the 8300 when it comes out?

I've not seen either beta tester acknowledge that Curve having a2dp functionality.
No need for me to invest funds in this phone. 8800 will hold me over until either an a2dp or 3G Berry hits the pavement. New Telenav has me hooked.

It's only really "consumer" in that it has a camera (and some corporate/government environments don't allow them).

I'm trying to decide whether I have a preference for GPS over the camera or vice versa... or if I want to wait and see if a GPS-equipped 83XX is ever released down the road.

Where did you see that it was coming out for Tmo? The RIM press release only states:
"The BlackBerry Curve (model number: 8300) will be available through wireless carriers around the world, including AT&T in the U.S., beginning this spring"
While this doesn't say it WON'T be released for Tmo, it certainly doesn't quote this in the affirmative.
Here's to wishful thinking, though!!!!! I know that if it doesn't, there will be one very upset user here.
