Default Blue tooth won't stay connected

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BB 8830 World Edition with a Motorola Blue tooth. I have been using this combo for the past 1 1/2yrs. and they work fine together.

Recently my blue tooth connects and then within seconds disconnects from my BB. I have tried uninstalling the blue tooth, rebooting my phone by removing the battery, and then reinstalling my Motorola blue tooth. It stills disconnects within seconds of connecting.
The blue tooth works fine with my husbands cellphone leading me to believe it's not the blue tooth.

I had my phone updated to 4.5 not long ago, could this be the problem?

Thank you for your help.

Older model BlackBerries had a Bluetooth bug. If you disabled the Bluetooth Activity LED, the BlackBerry would be unable to maintain the connection. If any of you have disabled the LED (I know the OP said his was flashing), then try enabling it and see if that solves your problem.

I have disabled the LED for some of my other programs but not for my blue tooth. I am not sure if this would have the same effect on my blue tooth.

I have tried re-enabling all of the LEDs on my programs, taken the battery out and most everything I have read that every one has suggested but my blue tooth will still not stay connected to my 8830.
Anyone have any other suggestions? I am at a total lose.

Thanks a million,
Mary

Might be worth a shot using 4.5.0.160, the latest OS for the 8830. Their is a sticky in this forum for that OS.

I will research, weigh the pros and cons, and think about the upgrade. I really like my blackberry and may check on reverting back to the original settings.
Thank you all for your help and have a great day!

Default Disabled Bluetooth

Mary, you're not so badly off ! I've just updated my OS to 4.5.0.124 on my 8800 (it was 4.2 something) and I now can't even enable Bluetooth ! The icon's on my screen but through the Options menu I get an empty screen, and through the Bluetooth Setup I just get the constant message "Enabling Bluetooth". I have to remove the battery to stop this message and get no further.
Any ideas, anyone, would be very gratefully tried.

Regards.
Henry
