Default Email Message Indicator Will Not Disappear

Please Login to Remove!

I need some help....I am using a BB Curve Model 8310 with AT&T. My home screen is showing I have one new email constantly. I have been to the icon for "Messages" as well as all of the icons for the individual email accounts and there is not a message there. How do I make this alert go away?

Thanks!!

This sometimes happens to me if I get a message while I'm playing one of Magmic's games. Either it will still say I have a message when I don't, or the LED will stay red.

The only way it goes away is a battery pull.

The usual causes of this:

1. You have an unread message in "Saved Messages" folder. In Messages hit the menu key and go to "View Folder" and then check the folders including the "Saved Messages" folder.
2. You deleted an html email before all the html images had finished downloading. Remove the battery to reboot the device to clear.

I had the same problem on my phone just the other day. Apparently I got an e-mail from RIM about the 4.5 update.

I pressed Alt-I on the phone while in my mail folder and sure enough there was the message. I even checked all my folders prior to this and could not find it there. So it must have went to a "special" place..lol

Thank you so much for the info. I will keep that in mind the next time. I pulled the battery and it took care of it....so I assume I did in fact NOT have an email there anywhere.

Default Good Information - Thank you

Hello all...

Good info here. I get many calls on this issue and users are left scratching their head trying to determine where the messages are. It like hide and seek...

connect your BB to your PC via USB supplied. Start desktop manager. Go to back up and restore, go to advanced.
you will see all your applications loading up on the right hand side table.
Highlight messages, hit clear.
should do the trick.

If you want to lose all of your messages, yes that will work.
