Same here. It always seems like you need to upgrade your Backup Exec Server first (might as well keep it on maintenance with Symantec) and your Exchange or Domino server last (since it seems like mail servers
always, and I mean
always require pretty much everything else in your infrastruture be fairly recent).
Notes and Domino, is the except of course! That thing pretty much runs on anything. And I'm not kidding.
It seems with PDAs the solution is to upgrade. To which the inexperienced LAN Administrator replies, "upgrade what?" Master replies, "yes." (we all know the long answer is firmware, handhelds, OS, middleware, email, etc - upgrade
all of it. Then and only then will most of the prior functionality promised in the prior version finally work. Oh wait, now they're new bugs. Upgrade! I don't think you can ever avoid this with PDAs like you can with normal PC clients. PDAs are far too finicky for some reason.)
At least you aren't stuck with a pair of NT 4.0 servers since they refuse to give up an app for 14 users, but won't want to shell out $20k for the current version that runs on a later O/S. The grim reality along with the picture of your avatar makes me grin for some reason.
