Thumbs down Canadian English Spell Check dictionary?

Please Login to Remove!

I love the new built in spell checker...

But it doesn't like Canadian spellings of words-- it catches anything not spelled in US English as incorrect.

It shouldn't take long for most of the common spellings to be caught and added to the custom dictionary but is there not a Canadian English dictionary?

This is a big pet peeve of mine.

There really is no such thing as "Canadian" English. Like most of the English speaking world it's UK English. Switch to it under languages (which will become localisation after the switch) in options

Do you think there is a more succinct way to characterize the variety of English spoken in Canada than to refer to it as "Canadian English". I'm not going to get into this debate with you, but I think that the distinction is generally accepted as being US English V. Canadian English V. UK English.

Anyway, I don't have this option. All languages other than Canadian English (1) were removed using Blackberry Desktop. But good suggestion-- I am going to try reloading the language packs and selecting it. It's interesting that the language option isn't even available if you only have one language installed.

Note: (1) For those that are concerned about the incorrect etymological derivation of the term "Canadian English", this term refers to the use of the English language, and more specifically spellings thereof, as most commonly accepted in Canada.
