Has anyone figured out how to hide and move the icons with 4.2 on the 8700g? I have yet to figure it out.

It is working the same way as in previous releases:
Press ALT key
Press Track wheel
A menu apears on the display which allows you to hide/move icons.

Also people have been confused about the Zen theme. When you open the full application list, the first five icons are going to the ones that are on your home screen. I am not sure if it is like this on the other Zen themes, but people were confused about that.

Modifying .alx file

If you go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8700-v4.2.1.66_P2.3.0.59 - You will find a file called Blackberry.alx
I would make a backup of this file just in case, but this is how you enable the other themes. You open the file in a text editor (notepad, textpad) and then you are going to search for the string vendorID. When you find this string you will see vendorID = ###
Those numbers are the carriers in which the themes are enabled for. If you are on T-Mobile you are going to add 100 to each of the strings and then each of the themes will be available on T-Mobile. Save the file and launch Desktop Manager and make sure that your BB is connected. Click 'Application Loader' and it should either auto-detect the change or if you hit next it will install the themes that you put 100 next to. I believe Cingular is 102 and the other ones I am not 100% sure of, but they are on the forums somewhere.
If I am missing something please feel free to edit this post or correct me.

I am about to install 4.2, and want to include the cingular themes, vendor ID 102. I backed up and then opened the alx file, and found a few "vendor" strings, but I am unsure what to change. Is this the string:
_vendorID="118|120|124|130|132|133|137|138|139|140 |143|148|152|153|161|166|167|168|176|188|192|193|1 94|195|196|197|198|199|200|231|234|235">
Do I just add |102 to the end of it?
Thanks.

i've just installed this and it was a breeze. I like the new O/S and as yet the speed seems to be faster than before.

I just installed on my 8700c. No problems. After it finished, it automatically performed the Enterprise Activation without my even having to give it any information. All applications came back with all settings, including browser bookmarks, pocketday settings, cryptmagic's database, etc. It even "remembered" all my settings, such as fonts, ringtones, etc.
Two issues:
(1) The Zen theme no longer has the list of applications that pops up in the middle of the screen, with names, when you select the Applications Icon. Instead, it displays applications icons in grid-like fashion, similar to the standard BB themes.
I had been using Bharti (or maybe Telestra) and I preferred having the applications list in the center of the screen. Is there a way to get this feature back.
(2) It seems slower.

With this upgrade all problems with the bluetooth telephone integration have seemed to disappear and even some new or now usable functionality has popped up.... There isn't. This is the way of things from now on, as can be seen on the 8100/8800

Upgrade went well for me too and it looks good. Do find the same problem - can't just double click to unlock, need to * send.
One nice think is the screen off function. I have the side hot key to lock the keyboard as I slip it into my jacket pocket when skiing. But I had to turn off the screen manually and often it got bumped back when in the pocket. Now, once I press to lock the keybaord, a few seconds later the screen turns off, if it's bumped it stays alight a few seconds only then goes out again.

I agree on the sound quality and volume, much improved. I also noticed that there is greater granularity in profile configurations now.
