I've read that audible voice mail notification is based on what you have your SMS messages set for under Profiles

I thought t-mo and cing will send you the sms for each voice mail. so if that is the case then you could set the ring or audio settings for your SMS profiles.

i get an alert on my 7100i not sure if its the MMS setting in the profiles or the SMS settings that will change it. try them both

wow, get this...out of the clear blue I just got back my visual -> " o_o icon " and audible confimation of voicemails...it has to be a network problem, cause now it started working again out of no where! I get a pop-up window, audible tone and red indicator LED. before I was getting NONE of these...network bugs I guess

yeah and I'm not sure if its MMS and SMS so I had both set for audible warnings.
