my bb 8310 will not play videos,

i have tried avi (it plays for a sec no vid sound only and then locks up the whole phone i have to take the battery out to restart it)
mp4 (plays sound only no vid at all) however it will play the mp4 that came as a sample on the phone
mvi (gives error message)

it will not receive mms video either it comes up with errors as well as saying that it was not dled but will be avalible for a few days on line.

i talked to att and they say that its a device problem and are going to send me a new phone, but i want to know if there is something we missed, we tried quite a few things.

You have a media card, right?

Take a look at these FAQs. It could be your videos are not in the correct format for the BB.

You may need to convert the videos to the right format.

I had some AVI videos that would not play on the BB until I converted them using Roxio. I would do this... copy the videos to your PC, then delete them from the media card, then try converting them with Roxio using the instructions above and see if they work then.

though its still not gonna help me when it comes to the fact that i cant get mms vid for what ever reason cause i cant convert them

It's possible they are too large for mms. Carriers have size limits on mms.
