Default BATTERY ran out fast

Please Login to Remove!

I recently have this problem with my BB 8320. I usually have my BB charge up all night and have full battery in the morning. if i used whole day , it only takes 1 bar. However, l recently have this problem when my BB shows low battery after 12 hours. It seems to start good in the morning but drain out very quick in the afternoon and by 8:00 pm ,I already have"low battery" warning. I changed out new battery too but it does not help... I am not on the phone all the time and whole day i probably spend 30- 45 min max ...

Are you in areas with low signal coverage? If so the phone will continuously go into full broadcast mode trying to locate a signal. If this is the case when you know you don't have coverage turn the radio off.

Otherwise, I am guess it's an application Is your wifi/GPS (forget which on the 8320 has) on? To see what is running press ALT + Escape. Anything more that the base 5 programs is extra and in the background.

Did you install any new programs when it started occurring?

I use the Seidio 2600 mAh extended battery, and mine lasts for five days before recharging!

I've had this happen to me in one specific location. It is always when I visit a client who I am assuming is situated right on top of a cell tower (I can throw a stone at it from their parking lot).

What I am guessing is that somehow my Curve is overloaded and perhaps tricked into transmitting full power.

I'm pretty sure it's not a running application because I leave the site and things return to normal, yet when I go back my battery can be totally depleted by noon.

I use the battery and it give only a marginal increase of capacity. Not magic to say the least. If you are getting 5 days, you must not use your device at all. Even if taht, it is hard to believe you are getting 5 days of standby.

I pressed ALT + ESCAPE to see what was running and almost every program popped up such as Google chat, games, maps, calculator, facebook and so on. It showed me pretty much every program in my applications file. Does that mean all those programs are running...if so how do i turn them off??

thanks for your help I read that FAQ file and learned new things ;)

Mines shot down to 14% yesterday and stayed that way for 2hrs. This is even after I charged it up that morning. It's fine today though.

lmao that was too funny! I could almost see you shaking your head while you wrote that.

@NoDuff - Simply hitting the end/red key that returns you to your homescreen does not "Close" programs. Use the Menu key (located to the left of the trackball); scroll or press the "C" key until "Close" or "Exit" is highlighted and then click it. There are several BB programs that will always run in the background ............. don't worry about these, you can't close them.

Watch out for some games too ............. like Christmas/Midnight Pool, if you leave these running they will eat your battery big time.

Now, I have total five apps : "browser","messages","home screen","Blackberry messenger", "phone".
Good news is my phone situation did improve. It does last longer after I kill other apps.
Bad news is it still running out of battery quick. It used to last about 8 hours .Now it lasts about 10 hours or so but it does not make sense if you charge over night and it only last 10 hours
Other suggestion i need to try ?Should i turn off my wifi network ?
