I'm predicting September or October. Software NEVER comes out on schedule, regardless of who is making it. My Lord knows that I hope I'm wrong, but I bet it will be third quarter before we see it.

Considering how long Mac users have been without support, I guess a few more months won't hurt.

What you are all telling me that there is no point in putting the "BlackBerry User Tool app" on my iBook,OS 9 hard drive? Is there some other old computer I could pick out of the garbage for my BB/PC uses? What should I look for? Obviously I'm not too savvy.

I just switched from the Curve to the Storm, and when I saw that the Blackberry User Tools disc didn't have any OS specific messages written on it, I decided to pop it into my iMac and see what came up. I was thrilled to see a Mac application, but after transferring Blackberry User Tool.app to my applications directory and running it, I was extremely disappointed to see that the application is nothing more than a blank screen. What gives?

PocketMac "was" the application that should have been there... I think you can probably still get it for free on their website.... HOWEVER...

I would recommend using Missing Sync by a company MarkSpace - you can find them with a few w's before and a dot com after their name. Their product is by FAR superior, and much more reliable. If you search other forum posts, you'll see I'm not the only one who feels this way. I used to use PocketMac, and it was not reliable IMHO.

I know the a new version of Missing Sync is coming out soon, but you'll be fine with the current version, I'm sure - they'll likely give a free update to those who purchased just prior to the upgrade.

Regarding RIM/BlackBerry's software, I too am hoping that this comes out soon; however I've been waiting for this for years! In the meantime, I have business to do, and the most viable choice is Missing Sync.

Good luck.

I was already using Missing Sync with my Curve, which I tested out earlier, and it still works fine with my Storm. I was just confused as to why Blackberry User Tool.app loads nothing more than a blank screen.

Why on earth does RIM promote PocketMac when everyone knows Missing Sync is better? *sigh*

The Mac market share is pushing up towards 10%, stopping and reversing years of relative declines. This should finally get the attention of companies like RIM and convince them the Mac OS is not some fringe operating system, but rather a strong customer base of loyal consumers. Give us a native solution and you'll win big loyalty points. That translates into $ales, and repeat $ales too! It's been reported in study after study that the average Mac user tends to spend more money than the average pc user. We're just a bunch of consumer whores™ I guess.

I have my doubts about any timetable I hear, but that's just because having been a Mac user for so long I'm used to being disappointed by stuff like this. I'll keep my fingers crossed, of course, but I will remain a sceptic until I'm happily installing Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac.

+1 on this! We had to buy an extra PC just to get the BlackBerry hooked up

So the question now is--is it still good to get Missing Sync v2?

Default Enourageon MAC & Pocket Mac

I don't get what the fuss is about. I am happily running MacBook Pro (never had a PC in my whole life), and Pocket Mac is reliably syncing with my BOLD, just as it was with my Curve before it. Emails, Calendar, iTunes, Pics, bookmarks.

What am I missing? What more do you guys need?

I actually bought Missing Sync, but I abandoned it, as it doesn't sync email sent from BB to "Send" folder on the Mac, and the notes from BB have to be synchronized to a separate Mark/Space app... PocketMac is much more elegant, IMHO
