Hello and thank you for helping us in improving our products!
I have double checked with my production manager and engineers and received the following report:
"The pin issue on the Innocase & Spring Clip Holsters shares the same design as the 8300 series. However, the issue with the pin coming loose was evident only in older batch of them and the problem has been addressed and fixed since last March."
We sincerely apologize about the difficulties that some of you experienced. Rest assured, if you found your product defective and are within the warranty period, please contact us and we will happily replace it for you. Thank you!

Another interesting fact is that the clip assy for the 8800 is actually thinner then this clip assy for the 8300 / 8900 series.... Seems strange to me... so what I did was removed the spring loaded clip from the 8800 clip assy and installed it on the 8300/8900 clip assy, and now I have a lower profile clip (by about 1/8 - 1/4"). Since this phone has different dimensions then the 8300 series, shouldn't Seidio make a clip that fits the 8900 phone specifically?
|
I too am disappointed with the holster. In fact, before I was informed in this thread that they were the same holster I purchased the bundle thinking that I would be getting a holster which was made to fit with the 8900 case. Since I already have a holster for my 8320, I just used that rather than opening the new one. While the holster fits the new case alright I would have preferred it if it was specifically designed for it.
I have not had an issue with the pin in the spring clip popping out though.

Haha, I guess that's what I get for being an early adopter.

seidio,
I've noticed that OEM pouch is causing a battery drain on our 8900's, I'm interested in getting your combo but I need to know if this will not drain my battery drastically as the OEM pouch. How soon are your orders shipping?..
Thanks.

Riding on good faith that the previous flaw I mentioned has been fixed, I just spent $91 CDN and ordered a the Innocase & Holster combo, as well as a "Naked" Spring-clip holster (for a friend)...
I will report back when i receive it and have used it for a few days.

Looking forward to hearing a few more comments about the Innocase. Also considering the combo with a horizontal leather case for the Innocase. Only had the 8900 a couple of days so far -- avoided using the included leather slip case because of the battery-drain reports here (although I keep stretching and flexing the slip case and might try it soon), and I've been using my old 8300 OEM leather holster (with top flap / magnet closure) for the 8900 -- it's a teeny bit loose on the device, but has been ok for the moment...

Well, I just updated the OS and we'll see if this case has the same "effect" on the battery as the leather pouch.

This looks like a great combo. Question though. Can the 8900 with the case be inserted into the holster with the keyboard facing out?
I have a mount in my car that will accept the holster. But I prefer the keyboard/screen to be facing me.

The handheld will fit facing out. However, none of the keys will work since the holster will make the BB go to "sleep".

This case is constructed really well, but is a little too slippery. While it makes it easy to get in and out of your pocket, I know the day will come when it slips out of my hand while I'm on a call. Hopefully it will wear down a little over the next few months when its not so new anymore.

Hello,
Rifleman is correct, while the holster will fit the 8900 facing out (albeit not as well as facing in), it will make it go to sleep so it will not work properly.
Thank You!

This is a very nice product from Seidio. The easy slide in/out function with this case makes it easy to preserve the quality of your Javelin.
With that said, the bottom part of the case (that clips in the back) to the top portion of the case will not close completely. Is it by design to not close or is this case faulty?

so i just received mine and put it on my new curve and the back cover does not clip in properly. i have to push it extremely hard to get it to clip and a few minutes later it unclips. after pay around $45.00 for this case i am not pleased.
until seidio finds a way to build this case right i would NOT recommend anyone purchase it.

got my cases (black for me, pink for my wife) af ew days ago. Both cases fit on nicely, relatively easy to attach pieces. They remain on phone securely. nice grip to them, don't seem slippery to me/us. I like the case and would recommend it. A bit pricey but a good product
