Default Desktop Manager recognizes device but doesn't connect

Please Login to Remove!

I used the Desktop Manager 5.0 (downloaded from internet) to synchronize data with the BB 9000. Suddenly he stopped recognizing the existence of the device (phone). So I:

1 - Deleted the Desktop Manager 5.0 (clean uninstall)
2 - I installed the Desktop Manager from the CD that came with the device (an earlier version, 4.2 or 4.6, do not remember)

Now, the Desktop Manager recognizes again the presence of the device - appears the information "Device connected" and the PIN number. But when I click "sync", for a short time the device's screen switches to a screen with the pictures of a phone and a computer (as before), but then this screen disappears, and returns to show the clock. The Desktop Manager opens the window "Progress of sync", and a bar of "Processing" - only that this bar is frozen, does not register any progress.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the program, already took the battery from the device, don’t know what else to do. Would it be a problem of physical connection, the USB port that blew up or something? Or the fact that I was using Desktop Manager 5 maybe had changed configurations on the device, and for that it doesn’t work properly with an older version of Desktop Manager?

If someone has an answer, I’d appreciate.

Thank you.

Very likely a physical problem with the handheld's usb port or cable. See the thread "USB Problems" today or yesterday under the Curve 8300 forum.

Try a battery pull and see if that helps. That will generally clear up a problem like that, and many others as well.
