I have been using this all week, and have been really impressed. I used it straight from my curve, so I can't say anything about the speed, but starting today, I noticed something odd. When I'm in my home screen and click on the Bb button it will occasionally bring up the switch apps menu, instead of the main menu.

I tried a wipe device using BBSAK, but so far it hasn't solved anything. I'm not overly concerned, it's just annoying. If it gets too bothersome, I'll drop back to the previous OS and then reinstall.

I reloaded apps world and it's still there.
How are you guys checking to see if apps are going to media card? Connecting to cpu? I get most of my apps from crackberry because I like the way you check them in "your account" and not on your phone.

Can you run apps off your media card? Isn't there an app to transfer apps to your memory card? I thought you had to transfer them back to phone to use.

That is just how the tour is. If you press the button real quick it will bring up the normal menu. But if you hold for a second it will bring up the app switcher. Just have to play with the sensitivity.

Also I got the "Please wait" thing this morning. My phone was actually on cause I got a message while it was on the screen and could use capture it cause I have it set to left convienence key. And when I pressed the Red end call key I could have seen my normal background but the "Please Wait" was still over the screen and I couldn't do anything else. Did a battery pull and it fixed it, think I might be going back to .53 tonight. Give them a little longer to work on 5.

I've went back twice already, weighing my options and I'm gonna stick with version .230. I felt like I was going back in time. Hopefully, we won't have to wait more than a few months for some of the bug fixes with a NEW leak

I guess I lied, just found out that I haven't been receiving all my email from my gmail account. I may have missed (or received slow delivery) from my personal POP3 account. I can't have that, downgrade is in order. It's like pulling teeth.

I am back running .53. Will wait for 5 to get more stable.

Honestly, I need to do the same thing. In fact, starting the process right now...

I remember clearly all that I lost in the upgrade (apps-wise), now help me remember what I'll miss going back to OS .53

Well I like it better cause I don't like the threaded sms. I don't like they took away the general media folder. And the issues with quickpull. And it didn't seem that much faster than .53.

There is a hybrid of this build out as well. If you look around.

When I was running 230 it was working right. Mine changed several times in different areas. It was usually a large 3G, sometimes it was smaller, (maybe just do to different screens) and it did switch back to 1XEV once.

Yeah as soon as I downgraded back to .53 it went back to 1XEV. I was 3G the whole time I was on .230. But it seemed that the internet was slower on .230, than it is being back on .53.

The phones dont all react the same but i am doing much better in all areas with the 5.0 build. Especially connectivity and browser speed.

This is a hybrid you can research. BBHybrids Forums - Downloads - 9630 50v5.0 (5.0.0.230 based)

This is dependent on theme. VZW Zen theme shows 1XEV and the included Precision Zen theme shows 3GBerry

I am also on .230 myself now and other than a few minor things it is acting quite nicely actually. The other thing I am not sure I saw mentioned is the "large font' issue is gone! I am not sure why the Media icon is gone though (wierd) and app world not being in US dollars is live'able, but also strange (??). It does seem so far faster, but I am likely going on the road for work next week so going to watch stability VERY closely this week. I too am not sure I like the SMS format to be honest.

Apps that I have working are - Yahoo IM, Google Maps, ScoreMobile, Weatherbug Elite, Yahoo Fantasy Football, Lotus Samtime, AppWorld (mostly )

As of now ... no reason to move back to 4.7.x

App world is independent of the OS, I've downgraded and reinstalled app world and it shows the other currency. Maybe it's just me, but I wont be buying my apps in euros, or whatever that is. I prefered Crackberry for my purchases, anyhow, but now it may be a requirement

I just discovered this this morning as well. . . Hopefully someone will discover a fix, as I've been unable to. I was seriously considering purchasing greenfinder as well, but not for 2x the price it would normally cost me.

Other than App World currency, and the inability to load BBM 5.0, All is going well with this beta.

I installed 5.0.0.230 on my Tour and it began rebooting itself every few minutes. I was forced to down grade back to 4.7.1.40 to get it to stablize.

Any ideas on the cause and a fix?

I just checked out the hybrid. I'm not sure i'm smart enough to do all that or willing to put the time and effort back into it. I just got everything back the way I want it on .53
