Default RSS Readers?

Please Login to Remove!

I'm trying out PocketDay, but are there any stand-alone RSS readers available for Blackberry?

I use an RSS reader called Newsclip by Virtual Reach.
I really like it, you can program your own feeds and add from their list. You can set the update interval, and the maximum # of items, etc.
Plus you can hit "update all feeds" at anytime when you're in a reading mood.
They have a 7 day demo available over the air:
Standard Edition
Install Standard Edition of Newsclip™ if you use a BlackBerry® over a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server (BES), or if your service provider supports TCP/IP connections (e.g. Rogers in Canada or T-Mobile in the USA).

For an easy Over The Air installation, copy the following URL into your BlackBerry® Internet Browser.

http://downloads.virtualreach.com/Ne...NewsclipSE.jad

Carrier Edition
Install Carrier Edition of Newsclip™ if your service provider does not support TCP/IP connections, and instead uses a WAP Gateway to provide access to the Internet.

For an easy Over The Air installation, copy the following URL into your BlackBerry® Internet Browser.

http://downloads.virtualreach.com/Ne...NewsclipCE.jad

Question

Is there a website that will give you all the RSS Feeds URLS?

Agree with the two prior responses. Bloglines.com is great. Get the RSS feed links from the sites you like to visit if not already listed in Bloglines.com. In addition, you can check out the list at allrss.com, which also has links for info about readers and other related information. Finally, Handango.com also has several readers for sale (NewsClip, BerryVine, BBNews, etc.)

I use Newsclip - it's by far the best. Their development team is attentive and actively working, and the product is top notch. I really couldn't ask for anything better. And no, I have no association with them, just a very pleased customer.

I don't work for them either, I am just an extremely pleased customer. I guess my post looked like I worked for them...I copied that info and revised it a touch from their website.
I googled my interests, ie. Rodeo RSS and got a bunch.
You can also try about.com, they have a ton of feeds.

I use Berry Bloglines and Newsclip. Both are excellent programs. Their approaches are different so I tend to go back and forth between them.

The biggest advantage for Berry Bloglines is its integration with the desktop Bloglines interface. If you've read blog entries on your BlackBerry, it carries over to your desktop, and vice versa.

There's an ultra simple BlackBerry Browser based one that has just started and is in a kind of beta quality stage. It can be viewed at:

After downloading Newsclip, I found it to be slow. Maybe it's just me...

Yeah, Newsclip seems to vary for me. On some days, it is really fast. On others, it is painfully slow (can take a full minute just to switch from one news item to the next). I haven't been able to figure out why. But, it's so easy to use (has great shortcuts for switching between news items and feeds, etc.) that I am willing to overlook the occasionally frustrating performance.

The email from contacts feature is pretty cool, but I still wish that it had a little quicker navigation. All around a good product. How long has it been out?

Newsclip has been out for about a year. They released a new version about a month and a half ago, and I believe v3 is in the works.

Newsclip for me is either very fast, or very slow. Go figure.
