No Reconcile Option...
Please Login to Remove!
Hey everyone,
Anyone know how to get the RECONCILE option to appear in your e-mail options. My berry has a few sent and received e-mails, but no option for RECONCILE NOW.
Anyone else have this on thier 8800R?

I would try re-sending your service books. If that doesn't work, re-register your device in the host routing table.

You don't state whether BIS or BES... but if BIS, you do not have mail reconcile functionality.

BES and BIS both have Reconclie Now option.....I have it...I am using BIS on Rogers and 8800. Resend Service Books and re-register, if that doesn't work call rogers.....your BIS account might have something disabled on the backend that's now allowing you to reconcile your emails with your mailboxes

Yes, on BIS the option may be there on some, it is on mine. But it does nothing. Your email on BIS does not reconcile... i.e., on BIS if you click "Reconcile Now" the little blue data arrows show data movement on your device, however it is still non-functioning. I think Yahoo is the one that does have the function enabled, on other POP accounts, nothing happens.

For me, deletes also sync for accounts other than yahoo (hotmail, my own domain's email)...when using BIS...wouldn't that be reconciliation?

Me too. It is what actually moves my deleted bb items from gmail into the gmail trash. It won't do this until i hit reconcile now. Cingular BIS.

Well, I guess I stuck my neck out there to get it chopped off.
Obviously then, I am wrong about about the 8800 and OS 4.2 regarding mail reconciliation. I know yahoo and g-mail do some reconciliation (if only to move deleted mail the deleted folder in gmail), and hotmail may very well also. Heck, I guess now it even syncs mail for other things like POP accounts (per digitalextreme, above).
I am sorry if my comment above caused any confusion. Meanwhile, I, too would like to get to the TRUE bottom of this issue, with facts.

JSanders, its quite possible that the BIS version you are on is different than the ones we are on, also on the backend, there are a few check marks that control reconciliation that TMO might not provide to their customers, so you might be right based on what TMO allows.

Thanks, digital... could be such, since this is the 8800 forum, and obviously OS 4.2.
I based my earlier comment on what I believed to be correct, based on my own experiences, and from reading these threads in the recent past:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...tml#post488438
and numerous other threads.
HOWEVER!!! I just tested setting my BB8700 to DELETE on both MailBox and Handheld. It does in fact delete from my POP3 Account (xxx@mydomain.com). Does not move to deleted folder, but complete deletion.
Thanks, guys, always learning... I just never tested it.

Well crap....
Hey guys,
Well, Rogers informed me that I am just dumb... But an honest mistake.
1) I had to go into my on-line BIS and change something on my account.
Homepage
Profile
Wireless Delete Options
"Enable permanent deletion of messages on BlackBerry Internet Service when messages are deleted from the handheld"
OFF
So now, I have my RECONCILE NOW option back on my berry.
I guess I could have did a little more trial and error on my BIS page.
Thanks for all the advice.

it should take care of the reconsiliation automatically provided that the user has that option checked. I personally never needed to manually select "Reconcile Now", it always did it automatically for me....I guess its a manual overide

digitalextremes...
Sorry, i'm not to keen on the lingo, but when I log into my BIS on-line, look across the top on the home screen...
(Search, Filters, Auto Reply, Options, PROFILE, Help...)
Then, in the new page...
(7th option down...)
WIRELESS DELETE OPTIONS
It should be there...
Then uncheck it.
I personally like the option of manually purging my mail and such...
Let me know if you find it...
