That was my point...YOU don't need it, some people do. If I want a sale and can e-mail a forwarded purchase order to a manufacturer to see if we can fill a truck for delivery I want to do that as fast as possible so I answer my customer NOW. That keeps the order with me and away from the competitor who did not call the guy back with an answer.
For me it is just about quick service and answers. It is not every day but it is there when I need it. Sometimes it is back and forth with my wife from a Tee -ball game about dinner plans or whatever.
To each his own and I "need" instant delivery. If I never had it I would not need it, that is what has happenmed in the last 5 years.
