Default 8700g Extended Battery Door???

Please Login to Remove!

Hello Everyone,

I got a little overexcited the day that I ordered my 8700g, I also ordered an extended battery from SmartPhoneDepot. I thought that the 8700r would fit, size and color, not so much. The battery is of course a perfect fit, but the door way off.

They don't have an extended 8700g battery door available yet at SmartphoneDepot, insted of sending it back and waiting, does anyone have a link for an extended battery door that will fit the 8700g?

Tahnks for your help,

also the 8700G just came out from Tmo, you're going to have to wait a while before the specific accessories for that model become available.....

T-mobile.com selling accesorries for the 8700G and has an extra battery that includes an extended battery door. The battery door does not look like it would fit so I called and was told it was for the 7100 and that it should not be there. Oh Well!

This battery won't be available for quite sometime. And I mean probably another month or two.

While it's true RIM has changed the date of delivery several times "another month or two" in my opinion not valid.

July 5 is the new date....

If your card has been charged that is an error. Though we state we charge a card on order acceptance we have a practice of NOT doing it on preorders. I will look into this.

I ordered an extended battery for the 8700g as well and my coworker ordered 2 of the extended batteries for the 8700g. Neither of us have heard anything from smartphonedepot.com. I've called, emailed, and even tried contacting on aim and I haven't gotten any response back. My credit card has been charged for an item that I haven't received as of yet. The ship dates have changed so many times. Presently, there's no ship date listed. Do you even have an idea of when it'll even ship? Why hasn't anyone followed up to my email, voicemail, or aim messages? Sorry to be bothersome, but I'd like to know something since my card has been charged and there has not been any updates.

Phillyslickster if you have been charged it's by mistake. I will fix that if you give me your order number. We do charge customers upon order acceptance unless it's a pre-order (like yours or johns) in which case you should not have been charged.

We have been updating the orders and website every couple of days as RIM changes their target date. There is a status link on the website you can easily check at your leisure - just log into your account and look at the order in question. http://smartphonedepot.com/shop/help.php?section=Login

We do not send out emails every time an order has a change but rather if there is a significant change like "in-process" or "complete" for example. This keeps the perceived SPAM level down and give the customer the freedom to check whenever they feel like it.

The issue with these pre-order items is that we have no control over when we can ship them. We put them up as a courtesy to our customers so they can "get on the list" and not have to monitor the web for the arrival date to place an order.

I did check the voicemail and email logs and cant seem to see any mesages from you... did you leave a voicemail? We are based in California and operate on Pacific time. If you were to get the voicmail system leave a message - callbacks are typically within 15 minutes. We ALL carry BlackBerry's and get copied on customer inquiries... response time is usually 5 minutes or less if it's daylight out. AIM coverage is spotty at best simply because I'm not on it everyday.

My sentiments exactly. When I was with Cingular, it seems that the 8700c extended battery was released a lot sooner after the release of the 8700c than the relase of the battery of the 8700g extended battery. I feel like the energizer bunny waiting for this 8700g extended battery.

As I have said previously.. this won't be available for another month or two..

Now looking at my order status... with shipping date August 22... chances are they won't be shipping to resellers until mid September.

They are never coming....

okay maybe not that bad but 8700c users will remember that delay... We are starting to see shortages of all the extended batteries so this may be indicative of manufacturing issues - that's only a guess. All four of the distributors that handle RIM OEM accessries are having issues... It's all up to RIM.

ChineseCatt may prove to be right but not for the reasons she thought.

Because the dates are slipping I dont see a need to change it every three days for three days later... that's why we put August.
