I have an 8700G and have best skins installed on it. I purchased another OEM holster and took the clip off so I could stash it in my front cargo pocket of my shorts. I noticed that the holster I purchased started rubbing a hole in my best skin but the one that came with the 8700G doesn't. Are the OEM holsters different? The OEM holster has the part #ASY-10458-003. I can't seem to find this model at any vendor to order another one and the TMobile store doesn't have any. Any idea were I could pick up another one?

I just hooked up a 8700G for a client and it had the same holster with the #ASY-10458-003.

My holster I got with my 8700C is different, mine has visual openings around the little tabs that grab hold of the blackberry when it's in the holster. I do-not have the model # on mine anymore but I think that #ASY-10458-003 was made to replace mine because on mine one of the little tabs just cracked off the other day,

The new one is solid, there are no little tabs on the sides that hold onto the blackberry.

If anybody knows where to get one (except for buying a new 8700g) then please post here and let us know.

That's exactly my problem. I can't find the same holster my 8700G came with. I've called around and vendors say they have the universal holster for the 8700 series but it doesn't fit like the one in the box that came with my berry

The "asy" part numbers are for the assemblies not the retail level so youre not likely to anyone referencing that number.

The current holster is ACC-10364-002 which recently replaced the model specific versions.

I bought a new Blackberry Holster last week on Ebay, it arrived today and it's the Model # ASY-10458-003!!!!!

The Ebayer user I bought mine from is "shop.cell"

BUT, I did not get a "ACC-10364-002" I got a "ASY-10458-003"

The packing must be old and the Holster is new.

But make sure you ask the seller to double check that you are getting the new one.

There are 2 Main Differences between the new Holster and the old.

The old one stratched the face of the blackberry, the new one does not hug the screen anymore, the holster is arched so only the edges are agaisnt the blackberry.

The new one is solid, there are no little tabs to break off,

Are all new 8700's being shipped with these redesigned plastic holsters?

I just got one as a warranty replacement and it fits rather tightly.

I'm still keeping my OEM leather case though.

I received a replacement 8700r (brand new in box) and got the new holster without tabs. It's a tighter fit and takes an extra push to snap my BB in place, which makes it more difficult to snap it out with one hand). All in all, it's a small improvement (both tabs on my old holster came off), however I still keep my BB in my hand more often than using any holster.

BTW, I have a Best Skins Ever full body protector on mine and 3/4 the way down on both sides, the skins are lifting a little bit. However, this only occurs when I use the plastic OEM holster. Anybody else experience this?
