I've recently had the THB kit fitted into my car (2002 Ford Focus UK). I have found the kit to be appalling and unreliable (and that's putting it kindly!).

Examples of problems are:

Echo for people talking to me.

Very low call volume - can hardly hear the caller (although I believe that THB are working on an in-line amp for this according to the bloke who installed it)

Microphone appears to be a 10p special - perhaps upgrading to a better one will help.

Stereo mute won't unmute after calls occasionaly.

Works intermittiently - i.e. won't connect to the stereo speakers or mike when making a call.

Perhaps I've just got a duff kit - anybody else expereienced as many problems as this? I've tried a couple of other 8707v's (they're our standard at work) and they all have the same problem..

Any comments gratefully recieved!

Dave.

Sounds like a bad kit - we have sold many of them with happy clients.

Excellent - I've notified our Vodafone Account Manager today so lets see how quickly they replace it.

Any thoughts on the microphone that is supplied with it? Would I see improvement with a different (read: more expensive) model?

The plot thickens....

Logged the service call with Vodafone today and they rang back to say that they had not warranted the kit to work with the 8707.

They then asked me who had recommended it and where did I buy it...seemed a little suprised when I said that "They" had done the above.

We shall wait and see what happens next.

Update..

Vodafone came out and changed the cradle for a bluetooth version (one that their engineer uses) and the change is incredible...

Nice to see Vodafone actually doing some decent customer service as well - can't fault them in the end.
