Thanks Cableguy,
Also, I read that there is a cheat to skip every third level. I tried it last night several times:
Goto 3rd level, at the last second when the last brick breaks hit the scroll dial in, then click ok and then new game.
Then repeat it again the same way, and on third go around you are supposed to go from 1,4,7,10 and so on....?
But it never happens for me? I hit the scroll button in once the brick starts to break..then the option comes up that says "Level 3/34, ok"? I hit yes, then the screen that says "Resume/New Game, etc" shows up and I hit New Game, but I keep going back to level 1, then 2, then 3, etc....?
What am I doing wrong? Another person said if you want to skip just one level, lets say the infamous "U" level, just hit scroll on the last brick before the "U" level and you will skip it. But again, it doesnt work for me?
Does it matter what version phone you have? I have the Blackberry 7130e.
Thanks for your help with this irritating game.

I have tried your cheat a hundred times and I cant get it to work? I have the 7130e, I dont know if the phone matters? But I went to level 3, hit the scroll wheel at the last second, the screen that says "Level 3/34, ok" comes up as well as the "Resume/New Game" screen. So I hit the ok button 1st, then New Game 2nd and it takes me back to level 1, it never gives me another "Ok" screen? It just says "Start a new game"? So what am I doing wrong. Thanks.

366,465 and 117 lives...going strong
Thanks to the others who posted about the life after the second time through. I was wondering if I was in a fluke cycle. It really is easy after the second time through so it is good to know that I should just focus on points and take my time until it fizzles out in the 1,000,000 to 1,400,000 range. Other than an occasional spurt of speed, I think rounds three on are actually easier than round 1.

did anyone else ever get the ball to disappear?
when you make a bank shot and it hits two bricks at once i've had the ball bounce up and disappear. paddle still moves left and right, but no ball, you have to quit and start a new game.
oh, yeah, i got about 8255 for a high score, pretty pathetic compared to you other master breakers!

i just finished my game last night. i got to 1,224,790. i had about 350 lives when the game started to mess up, so i instantly started dumping lives until it did it a second time so i killed myself completely. i wasnt taking a chance to not have my score post.
my question is this: why after about the million or so mark does the game start screwing up? any idea?

1 million
I hate daylight savings time.... hate it. I had just hit 1,000,000 points with a few hundred lives (see photo for proof). I had the daylight savings update pushed through my blackberry and it reset everything.

I still have a 7100t and I've been playing for about two years. I've gotten into the 30,000s several times. But recently I hit that "plateau" that I've been reading about. Until now, I've always thought that those insanely high scores might have been a load of crap, but then it happened. I've been playing the same game for about a week. I was up to 151,520 with 37 lives. I paused to "nudge" the ball then accidentally rolled down and hit "New Game" ... my hard work is all gone! It didn't even save the high score so I have no proof!!!! I could spit bullets!

OK here is a question for you guys. Almost every time my wife plays (which is few and far between), she catches a "warp". I've probably 1000x times more than she has and have never once seen one. Is there something special she is doing to get this to drop? She also claims it doesn't seem to do anything like skip a level

You're kidding, right? A "warp"? I think the word your wife is searching for is "wrap". That should be painfully obvious, even to you. No offence, but I think you have caught too many "slow" pills.

Funny, my high score was around 500,000. But then my boss knocked the blackberry out of my hand the the battery fell out. Almost attacked him. I now have a game of 250,000 and 115 lives. Just have to hope my blackberry doesn't crash, or fall in the next month.

High Score
I am at 243,890 and I have 25 lives and still going, does it really start messing up after 1mil? And the ball has also dissapeared on me too, I usually let the ball hit the paddle on certain levels a couple times so the level will shift down and it wont happen.

maximizing points
Adding to the below recommendation, If no steel plates, try to gun down the bricks that would disappear the next time you hit it them with the bouncing ball. You will get 50 points for every brick you gun regardless if has not been hit at all (The fully red bricks) or if it is one og the oldest ones(the fully brown bricks) Further more, it takes two laser shots to break a brick, for every laser hit you will earn five points, so if you hit a near dead brick with one laser gun you will get those five points and if after that you manage to get a gun and aim at that same brick you will be earning a total of 55 points on one brick instead of 50. Only the solid 50 points you get from the solid metal bricks can beat that as they are bonuses.
I am currently at 314,885 with 121 lives. I think I lost like 100 lives during this game already. My goal is to be in the top 20 so my name appears in the first screen of Plazmic leadedboard.

As high as that seems it really isn't that difficult to get above 1,200,000.
With practice anyone should be able to get through all 34 levels once. The second time around is VERY challenging so save those lives. Once you make it past the the second time through the 34 levels life is good. You will accumulate lives much faster than you lose them and can play for months until the you've been through 80 rounds of 34. At that point, you should easily be above 1,200,000 which (currently) puts you in the top 200 or so on the Plazmic scorecard. What separates the elite from the near elite is maximizing points. Once you've got a comfortable number of lives (20 or so) you MUST shift your focus to points. Sacrifice a life for points. GUNS are the most important power up and should be used to destroy steel plates (for a net +50 score) when possible. It has been suggested that your score must average 17,000 per round to acheive elite status - I'm not sure if that is enough - I'm at 1,220,000 and still going, but don't know how many more rounds I've got.
I'd be interested in hearing how the game ends when you've completed 80 rounds.
PS- Don't try to post an imtermedite score on Plazmic - your game will be reset.

Brickbreaker in Review
I have had five Blackberry models and have always been addicted to Brickbreaker. I remember those halcyon days when there were only a few levels and when you got to the last level it was the end of the game. Then my next Blackberry was issued and the levels jumped to 34 and if you were skilled enough to get through 34 it would just loop back around - with the ball now on caffeine - and the battle was on! Not only that but the ball started doing strange things like actually running away from your paddle and leaving the screen only to show up instantly on the other side.
I am proud to say that I have gotten through level 34 twenty three (23) times...hey when you accomplish something like this you keep track! I do have a regular job that keeps me busy but I also have some spare time on weekends, no matter what my wife's to do list entails, and play during lunch since I normally eat at my desk.
I just turned in my 8700c and the top score was 17,890 but now I have a new challenge. The 8800 that I was just given does not have a trackwheel it just has a trackball and I'm still trying to get the feel of moving the paddle this way. So far I have only gotten past the dreaded "U" about one-fifth of the times I've played so it may be safe to say that my winning days may be over...but I won't be giving up easily.
By the way - the brickbreaker hacks described in this forum have never worked for me! Although I execute it just right I do not "jump" any levels. What we could really use is some sort of actual cheat code ( - :
