Default Open calendar to today

Is there a way to set up the curve so that whenever I open the calendar it opens to today's date?

Thanks.

I've done the above, but when I go to calendar, it brings me to the view I last had up (and I do not have "last" selected as initial view... I have "day"). The only way I can get it to show correctly is to hit menu, "close" each time I'm done using the calendar. Is something wrong?

I think what's wrong is your expectations are too high. without closing the app it doesn't reset to default. it is like switching to another window on the PC, when you switch back you don't expect it to have reset to newly opened condition, correct? same conditions on the BB

I get that, and it makes sense. I only wish that there was a faster way to "close" the program, rather than each time having to push the menu button, scroll down to close. My extremely old 7250 had a button on the side that you'd push to close the apps. The curve doesn't offer "close" as an option for the side buttons. It's a usability issue, not over demanding.

menu - c - enter
pretty quick way to close. admittedly not as nice as a dedicated button, but I've never been lucky enough to have one of those.

Well you just gave me a faster solution than I've had. I wasn't aware of the "c" shortcut. That IS faster! Thanks!

most menus will jump to the first letter press, a good shortcut to know, I use it all the time.

I think the fastest way to close the Calendar program is to use the back button (the button to the right of the trackball).

It closes on mine. When the Calendar program is open and I press the back button and then press Menu>Switch Application the Calendar program is NOT on the list.

If you press the End Call button it leaves the program running in the background.

Yup, same here. Back button closes it.

I apologize, I hadn't tested the OP's problem and was assuming (not actually) given facts. I stand corrected.

Calender is the only app I'm aware of with this functionality though, most apps are just hidden using the escape key. I don't use the end key for anything beyond ending a call. good to know, I suppose.
