I was unable to access the BlackVoib website as well on my home broadband connection. Are you using Sky Broadband in the UK? If yes, see my earlier posts.

Downloaded updated version, no registrar address errors, connects to Asterisk fine.

I can place a call & it works fine. There is a 1 to 2 second delay from answering before the call is established - not a show stopper, just a comment.

Well done!

I'd like to see a client such as this full intergrated into the BB - so when you get an incoming SIP call, you just press the green button to answer. Easier said then done...

I noticed that you're with Rogers. What type of sound quality are you getting? Do the people whom you call complain about echo (hearing their own voice a few seconds later)? On my Bold 9700, people whom I call tell me that there is a very noticeable echo a few seconds later where they hear their own voice.

I'm from the Netherlands. My broadband provider is Telfort. I have vodafone NL and my wife has T-Mobile NL.

I can access the website but when click on downloading i get error.

But problem still exists. Does anyone has other ideas to get the download working?

Imcjipo - I know what you are talking about. Sometimes, when you first dial a number, you can hear yourself for a short while before it's answered.

Overall - Roger's voice seems OK. It does take a long time for the signal to 'find' your cell. When testing, I call my cell from my desk, and it can take approx 10 secs before my cell starts to ring.

Try testing it by calling someone and having them tell you what the sound quality is like... for me as the caller, I don't notice any major issues with the sound quality although I do notice a lag/delay. When I lent my Blackberry with program installed on it and had my friend call his cellphone (which I was using), I noticed that as the receiver of the call, after I spoke, about 3 seconds later, I would hear an echo of what I said 3 seconds ago.

Hi Aviator

After downloading newest version, it now says this on the asterisk server:

The problem now seems to still be on the rports, not sure why!
It seems like the registartion of the correct rport is lost somewhere. I think the 9010 is correct as its the port on which to reply back to on the BB, but i think the port is closed or not receiving the reply back on that port, hence the NOT found error.

Hope that helps for further debuging!

Dear Sir,

Congrats on the first berry SIP client!

Does anyone have it working with Asterisk?

Testing BlackVOIP here in Brazil, I use a hosted Asterisk service. Im having a hard time...

If I set to use WIFI, it tries network test and fails all... If I try without wifi (I set my providers APN), it says network start succeeded (BTW theres a typo in word succeded). But nothing works, if I call someone I get destination not available. I also dont receive calls...

Im behind a NAT when using Wifi, Im checking if my asterisk provider has STUN.

But still via 3G, it should work, no? How can we troubleshoot?

BTW, one little suggestion. Consider getting your own domain, etc. Your site looks a bit strange as it seems to be in some free hosting. If you fill out contact form, it says "This user has used up their submission quota."...

Thanks.

Integration dials from phone book directly will be in v1.0. We intend to use BB call log, however, this is a management decision, not mine.

You should use a STUN server if behind a router or using 3G.
You can use this free stun server

In the past, I have used these 2 WiFi setups connecting to Asterisk over UDP, with:
- my laptop (X-Lite)
- a Polycom 8001 SIP WiFi phone
- a Nokia N95 phone
- a Windows Mobile Phone (it's got SIP built-in but you have to 'get creative' to make it work)

All worked fine.

I think there's an issue in your client. If there are any logs I can provide to troubleshoot this, please let me know.

At this time, the only way to capture traffic is through wireshark. You can run it on a computer connected to a hub.

Anyone having issues connecting to their own Asterisk server in the same subnet as the BB device. This setup assumes the BB device is connected via WIFI. Here are some pointers.

1. If your Asterisk box is connected to the same wireless router as the BB device, make sure the SIP extension definition for the BB device has NAT=NO and leave the stun setting on the BlackVoib stun server blank.

2. If your wireless router is configure in bridge mode (which I assume many of you do as the number of RJ-45 ports are usually limited on wireless routers) and your Asterisk box is connected to a up linked switch, it is more complicated as different wireless router behave differently in bridge mode. We are recommend to have the BB device connected to the Asterisk server via the public internet. To do that, setup your main router so that Asterisk server can be access from the public internet. You SIP extension for the BB device should have NAT=YES. In the BB settings, the domain has to be the public domain name or the public IP address of the Asterisk box. Also specify a stun server - stunserver.org will do.

Hi Aviator

Have tried the above, but what i find now, is that the port that the phone is accepting return messaging from is always 9010, and the server is saying that does not find this port. To my knowledge this port is meant to be dynamic and changes depending on the available return path port.

Hope this helps on your side for debugging!

The port 9010 is correct. BlackVoib uses this port to test if the domain(server) is responding. Maybe your server does not like that port. We are going to change that to the default SIP port (5060) tomorrow. By definition, the client can use any port for SIP communication. However, some server admins don't like it or some server implementation have 5060 hard coded in.

Hi Aviator

I've got mine to work on WiFi, but not OTA. I'm on a BES plan and we have got an astrix box and an Enterprise Server at work. I don't think NAT is enabled though on the astrix. I just have a few questions:

1. Will the application work OTA on a BES plan?
2. Because we have an Enterprise Server, is my BB not already part of our corporate network (shouldn't it talk to our astrix box)?

I guess why I'm asking this is because I can control our network (routers & switches) from my BB by just typing in that devices IP address, doesn't this mean I'm part of our network already (same as WiFi works).

Hope you understand my questions.
