I have had my Storm2 for 3 weeks and hate it. I upgraded from a Curve 8330. I'd like to switch back to the newest version of the Curve 8530 but I'm afraid Blackstar wont work on it. I was told that Verizon was supposed to be selling all BBs with the GPS unlocked now but I need to know for sure before swapping out my Storm2. Nobody at the Verizon stor has been able to give me an answer.

I took the chance and bought the new Curve. Blackstar works, in fact I like it better than on the Storm2.

I'm glad to hear that you are having good luck with Blackstar on your 8530. I am able to access the "20 Closest Caches" feature, but cannot save PQs to the program. When I use Blackstar to open up a Pocket Query from my SD card, nothing is there. When I check under "media" on the BB menu, the PQ zip file is there. I have tried to unzip the file, but am having no luck.

Do you have any idea what I might be doing, or can you tell me if you have tried to use PQs?

Right now, I am using Cacheberry for my Pocket Queries, but I'd like to have everything under one program.

My understanding was Verizon still blocks the GPS for all 3rd party apps except the Storm and Tour. So I would not have expected BlackStar to work on a Verizon Curve. Very interesting....

bookgal806, you need to have unzipped files for BlackStar. You can request the file NOT be compressed when you create the pocket query. Or better yet, use bcaching.com.
