I just installed redirect and am trying to figure out how to use it. I configured outlook to receive my hotmail messages. I wrote an e-mail on my phone, and the status is set to 'message status pending', now im not sure how this works, but does the redirect take e-mails written on the pearl and then sends them via outlook and then copy the inbox to the pearl or am i completely wrong.

also on the windows start bar it says that its disabled, and nothing is being coppy to or from my pearl. I did get an e-mail saying this T'his message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry Redirector and BlackBerry Handheld. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the BlackBerry Redirector.'

any help would be much appreciated,

Why are you using redirector instead of BIS?

Redirector is only certified to work with Outlook and Exchange e-mail; that is probably the root of your problems.

You are using the wrong e-mail push method. Please check out Main Page - BlackBerryFAQ for information on the various ways to receive e-mail. You are looking for the BlackBerry Internet Service, or BIS

IS BIS the data plan i have to pay for from my carrier,? i find 20 bucks a month for half a megabite a little steep. Rogers doesn't have a good value pack choice unfortunately

no, kidding. So from what i can tell redirector just collects e-mails from outlook and sends it to your blackberry.....through usb i guess but do you need BIS for this, and is there a way to receive and send e-mails with out BIS

You have GOT to read up on how to use the BlackBerry.
