Default radio always off, how do i turn on permanently?

Please Login to Remove!

I am new to this blackberry (7105t) and every time I turn on the phone I notice that the radio is off and it asks if i want to turn on the radio when I make a call. I notice when I call it, I cant even get the call until I make an outbound call and start the radio first. I am using a pre-paid SIM card and cant find where to turn on radio permanently. Any ideas would be grand. Any info about pre-paid phone service and the blackberry would also be very beneficial. thanks a bunch all

i guess its because I dont have the wireless on but isn't the wireless more for enterprise activated? Does this use minutes from my pre-pay? can anyone shed light to this. berryfail if not! whats the good with a phone when you cant accept calls until you make an outbound.

When I read you first post, I thought your problem was the radio was turning itself off.

Turn the radio on and leave it on. Voice and data both use the wireless. BES is beside the point.

If you are in a building or some location where you do not have signal reception, or it is very low/in and out, you will probably find battery life hit pretty hard. In those cases, turn the radio off or turn the blackberry off until you are out of the building or whatever.

Think this way: The blackberry is not a cell phone. It has a cell phone. And more.

The blackberry (and a cell phone (communicates with the cell towers via a radio. Both the blackberry and other similar devices, cell phones included, need to periodically send and receive info. For one thing, the blackberry needs to tell the network, I am here, for example.

The blackberry provides the user the ability to turn the radio off. New operating systems (4.1 or 4.2 onward?) Provided the ability to turn off data and leave voice on. And there has been bluetooth (another "radio"), and now there is wifi, too.

Long story short, no one would have been able to call you either, while you had the radio off.
