Default 7130e without Data, problem with line

Please Login to Remove!

I choose the 7130e because I want a phone and a PDA. I have no need for data service. On my personnal account with Bell, when I change to the 7130e, I had no problem, I tried the Data service for a month, I don't need it. So I cancel this service. From then, I got problem, I don't receive call or message! If I made a call, I got my indicator of message ???

I call Bell mobility, they told me it's normal, the BB need to find a data server, if there's not, It stop receiving. If I made a call, it's start back. But before I got the data service, it was working just fine. Bell put back a free service I got before the data, Internet access (fees by MB). The BB work fine again.

I love this machine, so at my job, they give me a cell phone. I buy a used BB 7130e, I chage the phone (I paid for), and I got the same problem. But I can't add the Internet service, I have no control on the account.

Is there a thing I can do on the BB to stop this?

Default Problems with phone after shutting off data plan

I seem to have the same issue. I signed up for the BB internet service and decided to cancel it after several months. I was getting charged for "casual data usage" which made my bill equal to what is was with the BIS. I called and had all data service shut off to my phone. Since that time I have two problems, one is a very bad signal/call quality. The second is the battery life has gone down the tubes. A full battery charge does not last an entire day. I want to have the digital signal re-enabled for my phone but don't want to risk any bogus charges for the "casual data usage". Has anyone else had this problem and what was the result?

BBs are designed to have a data package especially the older ones. As long as they are trying to send data the battery life will suck.

I had a 7130e for 8 months and the battery life wasnt great anyway maybe 9 hours. But if it was looking for signal I got maybe 6 hours.

hey at least you can have the option of disabling your BIS... i activated mine this summer through USCC when i could afford it with plans to cancel at the end of summer (since they said i could do so at any time). when i went back at the end of summer to disable it, they said it was a policy that they could no longer do that, and that i was stuck paying $100 a month... or i could buy a piece of shit phone for what, $300 for the normally free phone? i think it's BS that they did this, because they said during the summer that i could disable it, and sent me no notification about making it a permanent deal, and i know for a fact that someone on the US Cellular food chain has the authority to do it. i sent emails about it and they fed me some bullshit response, and then never responded back to my other ones.
