Default 7100g And BT headsets

Please Login to Remove!

Ok.. so I've browsed this site a lot for Bluetooth headset options and a lot of users have put their 2 cents in.. Unfortunately most of them don't talk about my phone the 7100G(which seems to get bashed here a bit). I was hoping some pros would throw me some info in regards to headsets for the 7100g. I also haven't heard much about the Bluetrek G2 Headset... It pretty cheap on Ebay... around 50 bucks.. but I don't want to be in a situation where.. "I get what I pay for"

Any thoughts on the headset mentioned above and any more headsets for the 7100g in particular.

If you want a good, VERY inexpensive headset that works, the Jabra BT-110 certainly fits that category.

It isn't fancy.

But it has very simple controls and works great with the BBerry devices. You can find them for 30-40 dollars these days, and they have a removable AAA battery so don't need to plug it in every few hours.

Sempai,

Do you know if a BT headset cancels out the *terrible* background noise problem on the 7100g? I just got my 7100g last week and everything about it is GREAT as far as I'm concerned (functionality) but when I'm talking directly into the phone people complain that the background noise is louder than I am. However when I use a wired headset I don't have this problem. Any thoughts?

Get a Bluespoon Digital or Bluespoon EX (or whatever their new super fancy model is).

Those have exceptional noise filtering and canceling on them, due to it having like 3 mics it uses to determine whats important.

They're very expensive.

As for just using any ol' headset around, I'd imagine most are reasonably good at it. I haven't had any complaints about the 7100t personally though, so YMMV!

Sempai, thanks.

Do you (or anyone else) know if the problem I'm having with the handset (background noise) when not using an earpiece (it's fine with an earpiece) is normal? I'm within the first 30 days so could return for a new handset. I saw somewhere this might be a software problem with 4.0?

I thought the issue with some builds of 4.x was with Bluetooth Headsets, not the handset itself.

Hopefully someone else will confirm or deny. Check the release notes for new versions of the software.
