WTH has the medical industry come to?? Just received my "new and improved" hospital bill.. Get this $367.00 for 4 stiches!! This is major hwy robbery! I thought gas was high! Talk about sticker shock!!!!

been this way for a long time!!!!!
thy love having a doctor walk in soon as they do and look at chart they can bill the insurance company
Last time I was in hospital they billed for 20 tylenol
I called them out on it as I don't take tylenol or ibuprofen. and told the insurance company I didn't take any

$367 is cheaper than the insurance I pay for. Fuel, groceries and medical services are all outrageous anymore.

I work in Healthcare. As you don't have insurance tell them you are in hard financial situation and are will to pay cash on the spot. I am guessing if you bring cash they will grant you a 30 to 40% discount on billed charges. Go in person if possible.

actually if you think of what all went into those stiches its not that bad really. Doctors time, Nurses time, Pharmacist time, all the materials, Bed and Room rental.

Like I said that price was only for the stiches the room charge and doc charge and numbing med ect... Was billed seperate geeeze that almost $100.00 a sew.. Grrr I am sorry all I just needed to unload.

367$ doesn't sound all that bad (I guess its relative). My back surgery was just south of 200 Grand. The hardware (which was 6 titanium screws, 2 3" rods and 2 clamps) was 35K alone. Thank you, insurance.
