what's the problem when the phone is in a case and "sleep mode" is on?....basically, i quess ,what im trying to get at is , what works and doesnt work when the phone is on sleep mode?

It's not really in sleep mode. The magnet in the case causes the BB to turn off it's screen. Everything works...nothing goes to sleep.

[Fireproof]

"Standby Mode" is a lower powered mode to save battery life - but everything still functions normally (except key presses obviously don't work until you take it out of standby).
