Default Annoying keylock when password is set

Please Login to Remove!

I installed a password to be on the safe side. However this changes the way keylock works, and makes it more annoying imo.

without a password, asterisk and green-key are used to unlock the keyboard. This special key combination won't happen by accident.

Now with a password installed pressing the pearl (which sticks out..) pops up a menu and one of them is "emergency call" Several times I've already made pocketcalls to 911 this way.

Is there any way to get a decent keylock when a password is installed?

Press and hold the mute button to put the phone in "standby" mode. Keyboard will be disabled until you take it out of standby by hitting the mute button again.

Yes, you'll be able to receive calls. It basically simulates being in a holster with the "sleep" magnet. I use standby whenever the device is in my pocket.

It seems to work so far, als long as I don't forget to press the button. It does take a little longer to get into the phone again, and to turn it off. Is there any way to let autolock switch to this mode?

Nope. The mute button mode is the best one to use.
