YMMV but I charged my 8703 overnight Tuesday and still have 30% left. 4 hours of calls, hundreds of email, and lots of browsing. So far it beats out my old 7130.

Thumbs up

I love my 8703e compared to my "old" 7130e! I just wish someone would produce a battery door that will accommodate the extended life battery. The only one I see is for the 8700c & it won't work! It looks like the 8700g & 8703 have indentical backs (doors) & maybe one day someone will provide us with that little modification as if it is such an expensive thing to have to re-tool in order to produce a door that would probably cost them another nickel on top of what it would cost to produce the standard sized door! Anyway, enough of my BS. I am soooo happy to have this 8703e. As cool a technology SURETYPE is, I was beginning to feel a bit straight jacketed & having this new one is like returning to the fold of bb users! Hope all of you are feeling a small sense of normalcy having the 8703e because I sure as hell do!

I'm sure, given time, RIM or 3rd party will have an extended battery case for the 8703e. Especially since Sprint and BellCa will be releasing the 8703e shortly.

Alt + Trackwheel

My new pet peeve is that you can't leave the LCD screen on. Once the backlight
times out, the screen goes blank. Even if you are on a charger. If there is a way
to change this bevhavior I'm all ears!

One more pet peeve...

When the volume on a ringtone is set to "High" the poor speaker is so
overtaxed that you get distortion, which can be fixed by putting a piece
of tape over it. Am I the only one this is happening to?

They removed that funtionality because they added a semicolon ; key and and underscore _ key and removed the cursor right and left keys! I really miss this as I used these quite a bit! I'm not sure why in the world they would do this. Are there really that many people that need an underscore and a semicolon in lieu of the cursor keys? I am not one of them.

The only way to do it now is alt key and roll the trackwheel. Much harder than before.

did you try your esn..imei is gsm version of esn. Look under option/ status. By the way the sight is pretty much crap..just links to handango to buy stuff. Only thing that looks useful are the tips and tricks and you can get those here.

OK here's some good news.

Polyphonic MIDI's work. MP3's work. No issues.

I was half expecting Verizon to find a way to lock them out.
