Question T-Mobile 3G

Please Login to Remove!

Does anyone have any insight on when T-mobile is going to release 3G in other markets like Miami other then just NY???

I just spoke to T-mobile and ofcourse they have no info, they just keep saying sometime in the future....

My future is going to be AT&T if nothing happens soon...

With T-mobile's 3G HSDA I hear it is different than AT&T's freq. Does this mean when the bold comes out with AT&T I cant unlock it and use it on T-Mobile's network???

Correct. Wrong frequencies. T-Mobile's AWS is going to be 1700/2100 MHz. No one else uses this yet. In fact, right now T-Mobile barely uses it!

That is correct, T-mobiles network is a hybrid of 1700mhz and 2100mhz, ATT is on different frequencies.

Is there anyway that I could buy a Iphone or BB from Europe with 02 or Vadaphone that would be on HSDA so I could use it here unlocked since the above posts wont work? Any help would be appreciated.

this is not going to affect my 8320 correct? Also, when signing up for the data plan, is this going to cost more money for 3G?

Unfortunately not. As stated before, T-Mobile is the only wireless company that will be using the 1700/2100 MHz band. No other phone has these bands available other than the ones that T-Mobile has released themselves. The only devices that I know coming out soon supporting the T-Mo 3G bands is the Sony Xperia X1 and the Bold.

Don't some 3g phones support multiple signals? I thought I heard someone playing with the Tmo 3g network with a Nokia phone.

Yes, the Nokia 6263 supports T-Mobile's 3G bands. But they were only released by T-Mo to my knowledge. And the devices that support other 3G bands are generally 1900/2100 Mhz and not the 1700/2100 Mhz that T-Mobile has. It has to be built with that antenna set.
