Default Application policies - help I've stopped the ability to load applications

Please Login to Remove!

Just implemented BES 4.1.3 on new hardware, set up policy to push Enterprise Messenger and MDS Runtime.... but now I don't sem to be able to load any other apps on my blackberry, OTA or with Desktop Manager, it seems I've locked out the ability to do this and have no idea where or what I have done.

Help

Check your policy setting for Disallow third party application download

it's in the secuirty policy group, you likely want this on false if your going to control application deployment ..

Yes, already checked that and it is the default (false)

make a empty policy and apply it .. if it works it's something in your policy locking you down

I know its the policy because before I implemented the new BES, it all worked fine. Think I may have cracked it.

In the software configuration, I had assigned the Corporate Application Policy to "Applications" andnot just to the individual applications. It now appears to be letting me install.

right .. in that tree .. you want the top level to be disallowed then white list what you want to load via software configs and the allow policy. They need to improve the documentation on that .. there was a good write up on here by Khue I believe.

KB's 11215 and 05392 are pretty clear about how to set it up properly
