Default Phone wiped!

Please Login to Remove!

hey guys,

I've been having issues with my blackberry caller id since my phone got wiped and now it's not always showing the caller's name, even when their details are in my address book.

How did it get wiped?
Well, i changed the password, and must have entered the wrong thing twice when verifying the change.

Now, upon trying to enter what i thought was the new (and correct) one I got it wrong ten times and the phone was wiped clean. Pictures, contacts, bb messenger contacts, emails, everything, gone.

I had to re-configure my emails and get back my contacts etc

But the caller id thing is the only thing that's been giving me an issue since

any clue what it could be?
I appreciate the help greatly.
Many thanks.

Just a thought... how do you have your 'smart dialing' configured?

CALL LOG > [menu] > OPTIONS > SMART DIALING

fonejunkie ... they're on default settings
listed the country code, area code, national number length

BBChristopher .. back up on my home pc via Desktop Manager right?
okay, I will do that ... wehn I got home and tried it, I was told that there was an error during backup
secondly, how do I do a reload?
Needless to say, I'm still learning the ins and outs of my BB.
Many thanks guys.

I doubt a backup/reload will solve this. Def agree with fonejunkie. Likely your smart dialing options are the culprit. Be sure you have your local country code set (+1 for US, not sure of Jamaica)

Eureka!

That may have fixed it guys.
I changed it from "+1" to "+876" and the call I received a minute ago showed the caller's name.
Let us see if this continues.

I appreciate this sincerely.

Well, unfortunately, that didn't fix it
I just got another call from someone in my phonebook and the same thing happened
with the number alone showing.

Any other suggestions?

Double-check that individual's phone number in your address book, and see if has a 1? If it does, then perhaps removing that would help?

Hey,
I checked but it doesn't have a "1" beside it.
Thanks, we'll figure this out soon enough I'm sure
