Default Bluetooth - automatic synchronisation?

Please Login to Remove!

I've just got the Bluetooth connection and Outlook synchronisation working with my 8110 and Desktop Manager 4.7 I'd have to say that I'm disappointed...

The equivalent Nokia desktop manager does the following:
1. allows me to set a regular synchronisation frequency (eg. every 15 mins or whatever)
2. connects automatically to the phone whenever it's in the vicinity, without asking for permission
3. Synchronises without all the "progress" message boxes.

Consequently, it's MUCH more user friendly - synchronisations were automatic and unobtrusive.

I REALLY miss items 1 & 2. I've looked and looked, but can't find a way to make the Blackberry Desktop Manager do the same. Am I missing something?

If it can't be done... is there an alternative synchronisation agent to the Desktop Manager?

Thanks for all and any help.

JFMika.

Default Day 2 - even more annoying!

Today is day 2 and it's even worse! In my job I'm up and around the office all the time, so EVERY time I sit down again I get several "Bluetooth Device Detected - would you like to connect?" messages! It never seems to work after the first one - there is usually a series of 2 or 3, maybe 5-10 seconds apart. How annoying is that?!

So... any ideas on how to overcome this would be great!.

In the options "Hide when minimized" seems to have gotten rid of the progress bars and the actual device manager, although maybe I just minimized it manually and I no longer notice because I do not log off my computer very often. As for the other issues, I have the same problem; I am hoping someone has an answer to make it connect silently.

There's nothing in DM to address 1.

Default Keyboard macros won't work either..

I've looked at using a keyboard macro tool to automate item 1 (ie. regular sync's), but it doesn't look like the desktop manager HAS a keyboard accelerator for "synch now". Instead, I would have use the macro to activate the DM and then use a mouse click to do the synch, which would be pointless because the DM would then appear over my current window and disrupt what I'm doing.

I've just about given up on Bluetooth sychronisation. If I have to do everything manually every time, I might as well use a USB cable and be sure that I get a proper connection, instead of the intermittent nonsense that plagues me now.

<sigh>

My BT connection is very reliable to my Pearl, using DM 4.5. But you likely have to use 4.7 w/your 9530.

If you can get a reliable connection, I think you'd be crazy to go back to the USB cable to sync (unless you leave your BB out all the time connected to a USB cable or something). I don't mind the mouse clicks, hated having to take my Pearl out of my pocket and hook it up to the cable, put it back, etc.

I know what you mean about the missing automated settings, though...it really is a bit stone age the way it is designed.
