My problem is that I have two messages that just won't be deleted from the handheld. They are messages that were sent from the handheld as replies. They were deleted on my desktop but just won't go away from the handheld. On the handheld, their status is "Sent" and the folder is "Sent Items". Every time I try to delete them on the handheld, nothing happens. I have been using my BB for a few weeks now and everything is fine except for these two messages. How can I force them to delete?

That sounds crazy as hell, but I believe you! Some of the weirdest things go on with the BB from time to time. Only way I know is to do a wipe handeld which is extremely cautious! (If deleting your entire Phonebook is not a big deal to you)

Andre, when we had that problem on one of our handhelds, RIM said that the data on the BlackBerry had become corrupt. They had us backup the handheld (using desktop manager), wipe it, and then restore the data. Once restored, everything worked fine -- the stuck emails deleted without incident.

Wiping out my handheld data would not be so bad because everything (email, calendar, contacts) is synched with my desktop, but I'd rather not do it. Does anybody have another less drastic suggestion?

I fixed the problem. I did a full backup. With the Selective Backup/Restore function, I cleared only the Messages database on the handheld. I restored only that database from my backup. I had no problem deleting the two stuck messages after that.
