Default CTU Ringtone Problem

Please Login to Remove!

I know everyone must be tired of hearing about ring tone problems but I'm a new user of a Blackberry 7290 and want to download the CTU ring tone to it. I have tried several times but every time I get to the link and try and download it I get a cannot access HTTP 406 error. I'm not very technical and would appreciate it if someone could walk me through downloading this in easy speak.....

Thx

Follow this link using your Blackberry browser: http://www.davidenglish.com/wml/ctu.mid. You should be able to audition, download, and install the MIDI version of the ringtone from there.

If you use a T-Mobile 7290 and have two different browsers, choose the browser with the Earth-globe icon rather than the browser with the red-circle-T icon.

It does sound better. Unfortunately, the 7290 can't use MP3 files. It has to use inferior-sounding MIDI files. For the 8700, the MP3 version is definitely the way to go.

I have a brand new 8700c, and can't download the basic-ctu.mp3 from chrisking.com. I can download it to my pc, but not the 8700. I get a http 404 error. Any hints on how to get that file to my 8700c?

Go to Larry Greenberg's web page and follow his instructions. Worked for me like a charm. Just find any post by lgreenberg and there is link to his web page in his signature.

Who is Larry Greenberg, and where is his webpage? Sorry, I'm totally new to this forum.

Also, I can download other ringtones from the Christopher King site, just not the Basic CTI mp3 file. Its really strange. I know the file is there cause I can download it in internet explorer.

Have you ever heard of "The Green Latern". Also know as the case Meister Super Moderator. Just Look Up.

Green Lantern is the name used by a number of different DC Comics superheroes. Created by Martin Nodell and Bill Finger, the original Green Lantern debuted in All-American Comics #16 (July 1940).

All Green Lanterns possess a special ring called a power ring which gives them great control over the physical world as long as the wielder has sufficient willpower. While the ring of the Golden Age Green Lantern (Alan Scott) was magically powered, the rings worn by all subsequent Green Lanterns were the creations of the Guardians of the Universe who granted such rings to worthy candidates across the universe. These individuals made up the intergalactic police force known as the Green Lantern Corps.

The Golden Age Green Lantern was a member of the Justice Society of America. When, after World War II, superhero comic book sales declined, his book was cancelled. At the beginning of the Silver Age, DC editor Julius Schwartz revived first The Flash and then Green Lantern (followed by The Atom and Hawkman), all with new origin stories. Hal Jordan, the Silver Age Green Lantern, was unique in several ways. He was the first DC superhero to use his powers selfishly (in his romance with Carol Ferris) and he was the first DC superhero with a family. Written by John Broome and drawn by Gil Kane, these stories have been reprinted in deluxe hardback editions. An even greater departure from the superhero norm came when Green Lantern teamed up with Green Arrow, in ground-breaking, socially conscious stories written by Denny O'Neil and drawn by Neal Adams. In the last twenty years, DC has placed different individuals in the role of Earth's Green Lantern, most prominently John Stewart, Guy Gardner, and Kyle Rayner.

Green Lantern is part of the all-star group the Justice League and was featured in the Justice League Unlimited animated series.

Sorry couldn't resist.

Wow...a Green Lantern fan! I bet you know the little diddy that Hal Jordan used to say to charge his ring.

I think to celebrate his 2000 posts the Gecko should indeed be supplying free pie and chips for everyone. After all it is Pie and Chips for free is it not?

Sorry Dan I missed your post:

I believe this is the answer you are looking for:

Since the ring works on a persons raw willpower energy and it has to be then recharged against a lantern battery while saying this oath:

"In brightest day, in blackest night,
no evil shall escape my sight!
Let those who worship evil's might,
beware my power.. Green Lantern's light!"

This is the most popular of all the 15 green lantern oaths which is necessary for the ring user to say to charge the ring.
