Hello everyone,

I have been having two problems with my 8830 since last week, one much more significant than the other.

First, since this morning (after numerous hard resets) everytime I select an unread message, I receive the following error: Uncaught Exception: java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException and am exited from the messages program back to my main screen. So basically, I can't read any email. Anybody have any ideas?

Second, I have two email accounts that download to my messages -- a gmail account and a university account. Every couple days or so, I get a download all in about a span of three minutes of all the messages that weren't sent to my 8830 for whatever reason the first time (I had the accounts open on a laptop, most likely). Any thoughts on how to stop this flood of 200ish messages?

Hi again. I've done a full reinstall and now the Java problems seems alleviated. Looking back it is only the gmail messages making the big downloads. Any advice?

Are Gmails that you have read using Gmail being re-received, or just mail items you have opened using just your BB?
Now that you have reinstalled the OS, I would delete, and reinstall the problem account using the utility in BBBrowser..
